Super Bowl Miami Limo Availability

Are you going to the Super Bowl? There are only 80 days left. It may seem like a lot but it is not. Before you know it Christmas will be here and there will be less than 30.

The Super Bowl in Miami will be fantastic. Of all the places to have the Super Bowl Mimai in my opinion is the best. The weather is great and South Beach is one of the most exciting places to visit and have fun in the whole country. The latin influence, the mixture of races and beauty makes South Beach Miami the place to be.

Now is the time to start making your plans and booking your reservations. Now is the time to book your hotel, your flight and your limousine. Because of course you are going to want to be picked up and dropped off at the airport and you are going to want to go out in stlye, and what better than with your own limousine driver who knows his way about the city.

Book your Miami limo now while you still have a lot of choices. If you wait too long most the limos will be gone.

A Fine Conclusion, A New Beginning

It's been a while, but I'm back to firstly congratulate the Pittsburgh Steelers on winning SuperBowl XL in Detroit last month. The Steelers now join the San Francisco 49ers, and the team everybody loves to hate, the Dallas Cowboys, in the exclusive five time Super Bowl winners club. I want to give some strokes to the Seattle Seahawks too, for their fine work at Ford Field. (At least your team was there at a time when so many other teams were watching from the stands or viewing on television.)

The commssioner of the National Football League, Paul Tagliabue, has announced his plans to retire in July. The owners have begun a search for a new commissioner. Among the possible candidates mentioned are former president Bill Clinton and Secretary of State, Condoleeza Rice. Ms Rice took herself out of the running by stating, "Unfortunately, it came at the wrong time."

Beginning today the NFL owners are meeting in Orlando, Florida. In addition to forming a formal committee to find a new commissioner for the organization, they are expected to discuss rule changes as pertains to defensive coach side-line to helmet communications, Instant Replay, and player safety.

Pittsburgh and Seattle at Super Bowl XL

The teams playingin Super Bowl XL are the Seattle Seahawks and the Pittsburgh Steelers. This seems almost prophetic. East meets west right in the middle of the nation. Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. Sunday, February 5th 2006 at 630pm!

Which team do you like? Are you going to the game? Have you made arrangements for your transportation and hotel accommodation? Are you going with friends or business colleagues? What about the tickets for the game? Have you purchased those yet? Do you still need ground transportation? Hummer? SUV? Sedan?

The Superbowl-Limo.com website can help with any last minute arrangements you need to make. Entertainment Express, a Detroit limousine company, has ground transportation to take you anywhere you want while in Detroit for SuperBowl festivities. The good people at Entertainment Express can also help you get your game day tickets. Just give 'em a call 313-277-5000 for limos or 313-277-6666 for game tickets or any kind of tickets while you're in the Motor City.

I'll see you at the game!

Limousines for the Super Bowl in Detroit

Are you wondering what it will be like to rent a limousine at the Super Bowl. Will a limousine be available it you want one, if you wait till the last minute? Not likely!

Limousines are available now! But will they be available at the last minute? Maybe, if you look hard enough, but they certainly won't be cheap, and they likely won't be first choice either, but what is left over.

You could get lucky, but I wouldn't count on it. At my first Super Bowl in Miami I had never seen so many limousines before. There was fields and fields of limousines, thousands of them.

This year you will want a limo even more. At least Miami and the south is warm, but in Detroit it will be cold!

Do you want to be cold and alone in the dark unable to catch a cab in a city you don't know, not knowing your way around? The best choice for Super Bowl Transportation in our opinion is a limousine.

Enjoy the comfort, security and luxury of a chauffered limousine, Suv or sedan, that takes you where you want to go, that knows the city and all the happenings.

Have a limo pick you up at the airport, take you out to dinner, take you out for the nightlife. Make a big impression at the same time you are comfortable and secure.

And of course you will want to take a limo to the Super Bowl game!

Super Super Super Bowl!

Old Business:
Terrell Owens and the Philadelphia Eagles....it appears that the damage is irrepairable between the two parties. That's really too bad.
File this item under New Business:
The Rolling Stones will be performing during the half-time show in Detroit for Super Bowl XL February 5, 2006!
They've promised to take a quick break from their successful “A Bigger Bang” World Tour. Yes sports fans, the world's oldest rock'n'roll band will be the half-time entertainment at Ford Field in Michigan for the NFL's fortieth anniversary party. Oh boy, oh B-O-Y!

Will you be there to see Mick and the Stones and whoever the AFC and NFC Champs are compete for the SuperBowl trophy?

If you plan to be there you'd best get your reservations for your transportation to Michigan in order. I suggest you make your hotel reservations NOW! Don't forget your ground transportation. Book your limo TODAY! Why pay more at the last minute? Decide who will be in your group and the kind of vehicle you want to use during your stay in Detroit. Super Bowl XL (everytime I look at those Roman numerals I think for a split second it "Extra Large") in Detroit, the "Big Motor", is going to be a real party. Don't miss out on the fun!

Cue the Organ Music!

As we break from following the continuing saga, (we're waiting for the arbitrator's decision) that is "Terrell Owens and The Philadelphia Eagles: One Mo' One Mo'" let's think about the fact there are less than 90 days until SUPERBOWL XL in DETROIT, MICHIGAN February 2006 !
I don't think my favorite team, the Eagles, now starring in an NFL soap-opera featuring wide receiver Terrell Owens, are going to be in the big game this year. Put the TO controversy aside. The team's members have endured several injuries, along with lots of gossip and publicity.

Is your team going to be in Detroit playing on the gridiron at Ford Field?
The first place division teams in the AFC are:
The New England Patriots, the reigning Super Bowl champs have a lock at the moment on the AFC East. The Steelers of Pittsburgh look good in the AFC North, as do the Colts (Indianapolis) and the Broncos (Denver) in the AFC South and the AFC West respectively.
In the NFC the first place division teams are:
In the NFC East the Dallas Cowboys are the leaders.(Go figure?). the Chicago Bears are leading in the North in the NFC South; Carolina Panthers in the NFC South and Seattle in the NFC West.

It will be great if your team is playing in the SuperBowl and you could be at Ford Field to cheer them on to victory. Whether or not your team goes to Detroit it will be a great party. Plan your trip early. Book your airline flight and hotel now. Reserve your limo now. SUVs, Hummers are sure to be popular.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Don't eat too much and enjoy all the football games!

Let The CountDown Begin!

All righty now. We are now in the CountDown Mode for Super Bowl XL in Detroit, Michigan on February 5, 2006! Yessir 94 days and counting! I love football. I'm ready to help you plan your trip to the best football festival in the whole entire world.

In my opinion SuperBoww is better than all the bowl games combined. It's better than the collegiate championships, which are sometimes named as bowl games. Super Bowl is ...well, it's just super!

Here's an idea of some of the activities planned especially for SuperBowl: The Motown Winter Blast! Now this is an event which promises to be truly unique outdoor concerts, street festivals in downtown Detroit.

Have you reserved your limo yet?

That's Just Not Right!

Insert the following phrase where you think it is appropriate, "That's not right".
    The Facts:
  • The Green Bay Packers played the New Orleans Saints at Green Bay's Lambeau Field. The final score Green Bay 52, New Orleans 3. Haven't the Saints gone through enough already? Didn't they get beaten by the Giants after the promise of good old North 'Jersey hospitality? Are the Saints the NFL's orphans for this season?
  • During the course of this game, before the end of the second quarter, number 44, Najeh Davenport broke his right ankle. The experts report this injury will keep Davenport out for the rest of the season. He was having a great day. Najeh is a talented running back who scored two TDs for Green Bay. His 1-yard and 4-yard TD runs were the Packers' first two touchdown runs this season. Davenport is in the final year of his contract. He's eligible for free agency after the season. He certainly proved his value in yesterday's game.
  • Baltimore Ravens went to Detroit to play the Detroit Lions at Ford Field. The final score Lions 35, Ravens 17. I didn't see the game, but I heard Deion Sanders, number 37, was running as though he was wearin' a pair of them Detroit gators, an Armani suit and a fur coat. Deion, Deion, Deion why did you come back at age 40? You're older than your number. I miss your sports show appearances where you would wear those gators, an Armani suit, and a fur coat!
  • The Atlanta Falcons hosted the New England Patriots. QB Michael Vick was unable to play, as was the Atlanta defense and so the Patriots beat the Falcons by 3 points. The final score New England 31, Atlanta 28.
  • Vinny, Vinny, quarterback Vinny Testaverde! A few weeks ago he was sittin' at home like a lot of the male fans. Yesterday he lived the fantasy of those same fans. He was suited up and leading the New York Jets to a 14-12 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
  • Last, but certainly not least the Philadelphia Eagles went to big "D" to meet the Dallas Cowboys. That contest ended in a loss for my favorite team. The final score 33-10 DallasYo! Coach Andy Reid, Donovan, fellas you can't continue to use the "throw deep" plays and the passes to Westbrook. Can we run the ball sometime?? I believe my team is the best in the NFC. Can we please play like we all believe it!? If the play-offs were today there isn't any team better. So let's get it together offensively and play like our record shows we can!

All right everyone, all together now, "That's just not right!"

Football Odds and Ends

The Washington Redskins have a better record than the Philadelphia Eagles at the end of NFL Week number 4. I find that surprising.
Dallas is 2-2. I'm not surprised by that at all. Dallas will host Philadelphia this Sunday at 4:15PM.
Go Eagles! No! I am not a Dallas fan.

On Sunday the Cardinals and the 49ers met in Mexico City at the Azteca Stadium. The game set an NFL attendance record. There were more than 103 thousand fans in those seats in Mexico. Not bad for the first international regular season professional football contest.

As you may know I am an Eagles fan. I read a very interesting piece today by Gary Kravitz on former Philadelphia Eagles StrongSafety Andre Waters.

The thing I found most interesting about this Cheney University graduate, who spent nearly ten years with Philadelphia before joining the Cardinals organization, is his frustration when football analysts and journalists mention how the Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens defense of 2000 might be the best ever in the National Football League.

"I dare anybody to compare our defensive stats of 1991 versus the Ravens stats," he said. "Our defense finished No. 1 in the league versus the pass, against the rush, and total team defense. And we are still the last defensive unit in the league to accomplish that feat." I'm with you Andre!

We also agree on this fact. "Free safety Brian Dawkins is a hell of a football player," Waters said. "He is more athletic than I was when playing. Also, I wish I had (quarterback) Donovan McNabb on my team when playing, because I would be sporting 2 or 3 Super Bowl rings right now." Andre I know that's right!

NFL in Mexico City

For the first time in the history of the NFL a regular season game will be played today in a foreign country. The Arizona Cardinals and the San Francisco 49ers will play at Azteca Stadium in Mexico City, Mexico before what could be a record breaking crowd for a regular season game. The stadium holds 100,000 people.
Arizona and San Francisco play before a very large hispanic market. The NFL and the teams feel this is a way to connect with them and bring professional football to their many fans.

I know it's a bit early to think about it, but before you know it Super Bowl XL in Detroit will be all the talk you'll hear in professional football. I'm already checking airfares and hotel accommodations. I plan to go with some friends. How about you? Are you planning to attend the NFL's big game at Ford Field in Detroit in February 2006? Believe me when I say it's never to early to begin making plans. The flights will be booked and the hotel rooms will be sold out before you can say Detroit.

Week 2 in the NFL and Other Thoughts

The Saints lost to the Giants last night in the first prime-time pro football doubleheader. For sentimental reasons I wanted New Orleans to win.

Washington came back in the fourth quarter to beat Dallas. Go Washington! On Sunday the Eagles beat up on the 49ers to the tune of a final 42 to 3. Go Eagles!

What's this? I’m hearin’ about Brett Favre, of the Green Bay Packers, expressin' his opinion to the media about Javon Walker’s contract negotiations. Even the teammates of Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Terrell Owens knew enough to stay out of that discussion. Remember sports fans the NFL, known in some circles as the “Not Fair League", is just that, not fair. Player contracts in the National Football League are a license for teams to get Sunday thrills without guaranteed dollar-dollar bills.

Now Walker is out. First game of the season and he’s living the worst case scenario. He’s blown out his knee. Walker should have received a lucrative contract as a reward for his fine performance coming out of a Pro Bowl year.

Many fans are quick to say a player should honor the deal he signed. Nobody ever says the team should honor the deal it signs.

NFL Hurricane Relief Weekend

The National Football League has designated this Sunday and Monday as "Hurricane Relief Weekend: Recover and Rebuild".

The NFL, its clubs, network television partners (ABC, CBS, ESPN and FOX), and sponsors will use the September 18-19 NFL games in a special way as part of an ongoing initiative to raise funds and bring attention to the massive needs of the Gulf Coast region following the destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina, Commissioner Paul Tagliabue announced.

"The Gulf Coast and our entire nation face extraordinary challenges," Commissioner Tagliabue stated. "We will continue to do our part to contribute to the recovery and rebuilding process. The weekend of what should have been the Saints' first home game in New Orleans this year is an appropriate time for a special league-wide effort to focus on the restoration of the Gulf Coast."

Every NFL game on September 18 and 19 will include elements that will highlight and contribute to the national relief effort. The NFL's network television partners will participate during their NFL programming this weekend.

The culmination of the weekend will come on Monday night when MNF will feature for the first time ever a prime-time pro-football double header. First the New Orleans Saints will play the New York Giants in the Meadowlands. This game was originally scheduled to be the Saints home opener. Special arrangements have been made to present this game in New York with featured artists with links to the Gulf Coast area, as well as special guests the New Orleans Police Chief Eddie Compass and other members of the New Orleans Police and Fire Department who will participate in the coin toss along with former presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton, who lead the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund. The NFL has arranged through several relief agencies for more than 600 residents of New Orleans who were displaced by Hurricane Katrina to the northeast to attend the game.

The second game on Monday night will be the Washington at Dallas game beginning at 9PM EDT. Check your local listings for time and station. information.

SPECIAL NOTE: My team lost on Monday night. I'm over the loss. Today they face the San Francisco 49ers at home in Philadelphia. Go E-A-G-L-E-S! Go Eagles! Yeah!

MNF: Philadelphia Eagles Meet Atlanta Falcons in Atlanta

It’s Monday and that means on Monday evenings during this NFL season, as in seasons past, there will be televised games on Monday Night Football.

Tonight my favorite team, the Philadelphia Eagles, is playing the Atlanta Falcons in Atlanta. I am ready to see this game. The pre-season, which was highly over-rated, is over. This is for real. This game is the first step toward SuperBowl XL in Detroit.

The Eagles have an advantage. My team has Jevon Kearse, defensive end. I expect Kearse will be all over Michael Vick for most of the game. I do not expect Vick to make any runs. It don't think it's gonna happen with Kearse around. I think Michael Vick is gonna get "Kearse-ed".

My team, the Philadelphia Eagles, is prepared to defend the NFC Championship. An upgraded roster with plenty of youthful talent such as Lamar Gordon, running back, and Mike Patterson at defensive tackle, will give coach Andy Reid and quarterback Donovan McNabb the elements for a winning team. (Patterson was once described by a sportscaster as being like hair in the sink...clogging things up.) These players are great compliments to Brian Westbrook,Greg Lewis, Terrell Owens, L.J. Smith, and Donovan McNabb.

The Eagles will show the Falcons they are quite capable of defending the NFC Championship. E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles! YEAH!!

NFL Prime Time Double Header September 19

On Monday NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue announced the New Orleans Saints’ game against the New York Giants in Week 2 of the NFL regular season will be played on Monday night, September 19th. The game will be part of an extraordinary Monday Night Football prime time doubleheader produced to feature the national relief effort for survivors of Hurricane Katrina. Originally the game had been set to be played in New Orleans on September 18. However because of the disruption in Louisiana as a result of the storm and the significance of the demands in the relief and recovery effort in Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas and elsewhere in the region, the NFL officials had previously announced the game will be played at Giants Stadium, the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, New Jersey. In his announcement the commissioner expressed his appreciation to both ABC and ESPN for their assistance in making the September 19 game part of the overall Gulf Coast disasster relief effort. Commissioner Tagliabue also said, "The New Orleans Saints know the importance of rising to help meet the Gulf Coast’s extraordinary challenges, and we salute them, too."
Kick off will be at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC-TV. At 9 p.m. ET – at the kickoff time of the regularly scheduled Washington at Dallas game on ABC – the Saints-Giants telecast will be switched to ESPN in all markets except New York, Louisiana and selected hurricane-affected areas, which will continue to see the game on ABC until its conclusion. Those ABC stations then will go to the Washington-Dallas game.
"Anybody can throw money around at these people, but they need love." That's what Joe Horn, New Orleans Saints wide receiver said. Horn spent three hours signing autographs, holding babies and playing games with children at the temporary shelter in the Houston Astrodome.

"They need to be able to feel me. So when I leave, I hope they feel a little better." Horn had kept a promise after the Saints’ last preseason game September 1st by driving to Houston to spend time with evacuated survivors of the storm.

Longtime Saints fan DeShawn Brown could barely contain himself when he saw Horn.“This is big,” Brown bellowed. "Our mail didn’t come out here, and Joe Horn came out here. He’s the truth."

Horn worked his way through lines of cots and people lining the Astrodome floor as women shrieked in delight and everyone from small children to the elderly lined up to greet him. "We’re going to bounce back," he yelled to the crowd. "Things will get better."

SuperBowl Champs Win Over Raiders

Last night the New England Patriots took the first positive step toward securing a field position in Detroit, Michigan for the NFL’s really big game, SuperBowl XL. Their 30 to 20 victory over the Raiders is an indication that when you're hot, you're hot, with or without the old coaching staff and field personnel. They've been to the Super Bowl 4 times before. Earlier this year they did what's called the "THREE-peat" in football. Now this season their goin' for win number 4.

It began with the Raiders being the first on the board. Even though Randy Moss caught a 73 yard pass and scored a touchdown, it was not to be the Raiders night. The New England defense made sure that was Randy's only big play of the night.

In the third quarter the New England Patriots, led by Tom Brady from the University of Michigan, took their own shaky three point lead and turned those Pats fans’ frowns upside down. Corey Dillon ran in from 8 yards to give New England a 23-14 lead. After that they were unstoppable.

It was a close game. Not close enough for the Raiders of Oakland. The final score: New England 30 Oakland 20.

I may watch some other contests this weekend. For me the excitement will come when my favorite team plays in Monday Night Football. The Atlanta Falcons will host the Philadelphia Eagles. McNabb and the Eagles versus Vick and the Falcons. A great match up that promises to be some great football!

  • The New Orleans Saints are looking for a place to play their scheduled home games.

NFL Helping Disaster Survivors

Everybody from equipment managers to players to every aspect and department you can think of in the National Football League is reaching out to help the survivors of the devistating hurricane Katrina.
  • Peyton Manning and Eli Manning, who grew up in New Orleans, flew to Baton Rouge, Louisiana on a plane carrying relief supplies for the survivors of hurricane Katrina. The quarterbacking brothers from New Orleans flew in a plane sponsored by the PeyBack Foundation carrying 31,000 pounds of nonperishable items including diapers, baby formula, pillows, water and Gatorade. Peyton, plays quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts, while his brother is a quarterback for the New York Giants."What Eli and I want to do is help the city," said Peyton Manning, the NFL’s two-time MVP. "We are in to help for the long haul. This is our hometown." Eli Manning, who was the first pick in the 2004 draft, said New Yorkers have a special sympathy for New Orleans. “They have an understanding of what’s going on in New Orleans,” said he said. "Many people have called me and asked what they can do to help."
  • The NFL will send $10,000 of sample product to the Boys & Girls Club of Baton Rouge to hold and distribute at evacuation sites.
  • All NFL team equipment managers are collecting and sending supplies (clothing, socks, water bottles, etc.) to their Louisiana State University counterpart for distribution to evacuees.

The New Orleans Saints said they are considering three options where to play their home games this season: LSU’s Tiger Stadium, the Alamodome in San Antonio or at the stadiums of all their opponents. Mickey Loomis, General Manager said,“We want to play in the Superdome, but obviously that’s not possible." HE also stated,"We would like to play our games in Baton Rouge. Obviously, the league has a lot of say. They’ll be involved in the decision. We’re trying to explore every possibility." The Saints open at Carolina.

Retirement for Rice

Jerry Rice, of the National Football League, not Condoleeza Rice of the United States Department of State.

Jerry Rice of the Denver Broncos is retiring after 20 years in football. I know I'm not the only one who thought he’d already retired and was living a life of ease and leisure at Happy Acres Retirement Village in Arizona. I guess I missed out on the four pre-season passes he caught for Denver. Denver Head Coach Mike Shanahan said, “He’s the greatest player to ever play the game.”

I'll say he's great! He's won 3 SuperBowls in 16 years during his time with the San Francisco 49ers! (That would be Super Bowls XXIII, XXIV, XXIX) Caught a pass in an NFL-record 274 consecutive games from his rookie year in 1985 through September 2004.
Oh there's more. This Rice is excellent. Jerry holds the NFL-record of 14... 1,000-yard receiving seasons and a league-best four 100-catch seasons, including a record three consecutive years in which he had 100-receptions from 1994-96.

We will miss you Jerry. Much success to you and yours, and thank you for 20 great years.

The NFL and The Gulf Coast Disaster

Looks like the road to the Super Bowl in Detroit is gonna be a real bumpy one sports fans!

Like many people across the country, the National Football League, its teams and players have either been directly or indirectly affected by the storm's devastation. During this weekend's games, all teams will have a Moment of Silence for victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Here’s the rundown on what’s being done by the NFL, individual players and some teams to help the survivors of the devastation in New Orleans and other affected areas of the Gulf Coast...

  • The NFL announced that it will donate $1 million to the American Red Cross towards relief efforts. (Gee! That's great Paul, but I hope you and the owners will continue to give that amount for as long as it takes to restore this treasured area of the nation.)

  • NFL players are already heavily involved in contributing to relief efforts. Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre and his team loaded the team plane with relief supplies and have partnered with Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair, who has arranged to have a truck meet the plane in Nashville. The goods will then be driven to hard hit areas in Mississippi. In the coming weeks, other Gulf Coast native NFL players will visit with displaced victims, distribute product and supplies. (Money is great, but actual supplies, items that people can use are really important.)

  • Baltimore Ravens cornerback Deion Sanders challenged all professional athletes to donate at least $1,000 a piece through payroll deductions to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Sanders' teammates who are also Louisiana natives, Ed Reed and Alan Ricard, joined Sanders in calling for each team in the NFL, NBA and Major League Baseball, as well as other pro sports, to help him reach a goal of $1.5 million to $3 million for the cause.
"The recent devastation of Hurricane Katrina in the aftermath of her wrath, there has been a loss of life, property, finances, homelessness and a multitude of atrocities. The people affected by this disaster is astronomical," Sanders said.
The Ravens players also called for fans to donate money, clothing and supplies to the ravaged Gulf Coast. "Through unity, we can touch thousands," Sanders said. "This is in our own backyard. We feel this. Ed, Alan, feel this. I have friends, relatives that feel this pain. Help in any way you can."

  • The Ravens organization, which plans to donate $25,000 in addition to the players' efforts, will collect donations for victims of Hurricane Katrina on Sept. 11 when the team opens the season against the Indianapolis Colts.
They're setting an example. They're doing the right thing. They're taking care of family and helping neighbors, too. I'm sure there will be more contributions and more creative ideas to raise funds and supplies to help the survivors of this historically devastating event.

More Stars on Opening of NFL Season

I'm getting excited about the National Football League's new season. The opening festivities are going to be almost as fabulous as a Super Bowl.

This year the NFL is celebrating its 40th anniversary...hence the Roman numeral "XL" for the big game in February in Detroit. That would be XL as in Roman numeral 40..not as some might think at first glance "XL" as in "extra large".

Back to the stars..On September 8 the opening game between Oakland and New England begins at 9PM EDT. The fortieth anniversary celebration begins at 8PM. Along with the Rolling Stones, Kanye West, Rihanna, and Green Day there will be 24 NFL greats, including former Super Bowl MVP Marcus Allen and Pro Football Hall of Famers as well as the University of Southern California marching band.

Oh boy, oh boy am I excited? You betcha! N-F-L! N-F-L!

It's Almost Here

The start of the 2005 National Football League's regular season is almost here. I can hardly wait. September 8 at 9PM EDT the first game of the regular season will be played. The New England Patriots will host the Oakland Raiders. I think it will be a good game.

In preparation for the new season many fans have drafted fantasy football teams. This year for the first time in several years I have a fantasy team. I'm not as serious as some of the owners in the league. It's just a fantasy. A real franchise goes for several million dollars. I don't have that kind of bank.

I'm looking forward to this season. So much drama, and I'm not talkin' Rosenhaus, Owens, McNabb and the Eagles. I'm not talkin' Ricky Williams drama or Rnady Moss or even Michael Vick off the field drama.

What I mean is suspense and drama like: Will the Philadelphia Eagles win the conference championship again to return to SuperBowl in Detroit to finally bring home a trophy to the fans in the city "that loves you back"? Will the New England Patriots establish themselves as a true football dynasty by going to the Super Bowl one more time? What about Atlanta? What about those New York teams? Who's gonna win the west? So many questions. By the time February 2006 arrives all but one of my questions will be answered. The journey begins September 8 9PM EDT.

Pre-season Philadelphia Triumphs Over Cincinnati

Philadelphia won 27-17 last night. Philadelphia star quarterback Donovan McNabb, and Terrell Owens, Philadelphia’s number one wide receiver, were definitely in synch on the field. This was their first pre-season game together. McNabb threw for 256 yards and three touchdowns. Owens caught five passes for 131 yards. That was in just one half. It was business as usual. They picked up right where they left off last season. No they do not appear to be speaking off the field. In the words of coach Andy Reid, “Sometimes actions speak louder than words.”

To those sports writers and fans who say Terrell Owens is out of order with his request for a better contract deal or that he’s out of line in his behavior, I say, you need to walk a mile in his cleats. Everybody should know it is the rare player who makes it to the last few years of his contract. Think of Ty Law formerly of the world champion New England Patriots. He was due to receive $9 million. The Patriots knew he was hurt. They decided to cut him. Final conclusion: the team did not have to fulfill the contract.

Football contracts are not guaranteed long term contracts as are Major League Baseball contracts or National Basketball Association contracts.

If you think the Eagles organization should consider alternatives to T.O. being on the team I say think again! There are other receivers in the NFL who could adequately do the job. None of them can perform with the same confidence, style or with the same timing cultivated over the past year between the QB McNabb and his wide receiver Owens.
Super agent Drew Rosenhaus and his client Terrell Owens have brought the Philadelphia Eagles as much, if not more publicity and name recognition than the team that won the Super Bowl in January. Thanks to the sports media doin’ their “sensationalize the mundane” thing. You can always rely on the press to get the fans pumped. September 8th 9 PM, EDT the NFL regular season begins.

Pro Football Comments

Super Bowl XL is scheduled for February 2006 at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. (That’s not Extra Large...that's SuperBowl 40!) At this point the Detroit host committee is better organized than a similar committee that was in charge in Jacksonville for Super Bowl XXXIX. The Detroit committee actually has useful information on its web site. This time last year it seemed the bubba-officials, and I mean that in a good way, were tryin’ to remember when the NFL was scheduled to hold its championship game in "the biggest little city in America", area-wise that is.

Why does the NFL think it’s important to enlist the participants in the small business initiative so early in the game? Nothing else is ready by the deadline they always impose. Generally they want the applicants, female and/ or minority owned enterprises to be front and center with completed aplications by the end of March the year before the SuperBowl. I wonder why that is. By March of this year there was no official host city web site on the Internet. Things that make you go….“Hmmmm”

The Eagles lost to the Steelers Monday night-38 to 31. Ah! It's only preseason. I'm looking forward to the continuing soap-opera that is Terrell Owens Owens and the Philadelphia Eagles organization in dispute over his contract is a non-story that the sports media needs to put to bed. They've turned it into a mega non-story. It must be a real slow time for sports news. I wonder what kind of spin the press is gonna put on the Philadelphia preseason loss to Pittsburgh? "Good performance by Mc Nabb, despite not having T.O. on the field." ?
I wonder how many sports reporters are hovering around Owens home in New Jersey or at Eagles training camp on the campus of Lehigh University in Pennsylvania as they await his return? They wait in anticipation. I'll bet they've already fashioned their sensationalized versions of what will happen upon his return on Wednesday. Stay tuned.

Along with many fans I, too, am dismissive, of preseason footbll, because it doesn't count toward anything. It's only purpose is to get the fans revved up for the official NFL season, which opens September 8th at 9PM EDT with the Raiders at the Patriots in Foxboro, Mass. Preseason does showcase new talent. It also brings injuries. For example: Chicago Bears' quarterback Rex Grossman broke his left ankle during the second quarter of the game in the Bears' preseason loss to the Rams on August 12 . It's been reported Grossman will be sidelined three to four months. This is Grossman's third injury in as many seasons. The young QB lost the majority of 2004 with a knee injury and missed the end of 2003 with an injured hand. Now they'll have to rely on running the ball.

General manager Jerry Angelo isn't sure when the quarterback will return. " ...We're not here lamenting over Rex Grossman. It's unfortunate. We have a contingency plan. The only thing I'm disappointed in is we're having to get to the contingency plan. We have a lot of confidence in our quarterbacks and (offensive coordinator) Ron Turner." Chad Hutchinson is now the starter, with rookie Kyle Orton and veteran Jeff Blake backing him up. Blake is a former All-Pro signed by the Bears to a one-year agreement.

NFL Pre-Season 2005 is Underway!

Last weekend in Japan the Atlanta Falcons, led by quarterback Michael Vick, won over the Indianapolis Colts 27-21 in the American Bowl. (I know... if it’s the “American Bowl” why is it played in Japan? You should probably ask an executive in the marketing department of the NFL(?) The Chicago Bears defeated the Miami Dolphins in a close contest 27-24 in the Hall of Fame game on Monday. These games are indicative that the 2005 National Football League pre-season is underway. The NFL Network will broadcast the Oakland/San Francisco game....the network’s first live game broadcast August 13 at 10PM ET. The NFL Network is slated to broadcast 55 games in 25 days.

What about them Packers? It’s only pre-season football, but you can't overlook this trmendous feat. Brett Favre, the Green Bay quarterback trained with a conditioning and strength coach in the off-season, and as they say in France “Vive la difference!” he completes 9 out of 10 passes. We want to recognize the kicker, Ryan Longwell, who kicked a 53 yard field goal with 33 seconds left in the game to give Green Bay a 10-7 victory against the San Diego Chargers.

The oldest rockers on the planet have been tapped by the NFL to assist with the start up of the official NFL 2005 season. The Rolling Stones will be the featured headliners as part of the “NFL Opening Kickoff 2005”—it’s a one hour pre-game special to air on ABC at 8PM ET on September 8. The program will also feature live performances by Carlos Santana, Green Day, Maroon 5, Trisha Yearwood, and Kanye West. This music and sports special will be the lead in to the game between the Oakland Raiders and the New England Patriots, the winners of Super Bowl XXXIX at Gillette Stadium at 9PM ET.

This is a musical celebration which is part of the NFL’s “Road to Forty” season retrospective. The program will pay honor the New England Patriots, take a look at the history of the Super Bowl, and look forward to Super Bowl XL scheduled for February 5, 2006 in Detroit, Michigan.

From Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts there will be performances by Green Day and Santana. At the site of the first Super Bowl, the Los Angeles Coliseum, as part of a free concert Kanye West and Maroon 5 will be presenting a live performance . Also from Gillette Stadium, where the host for the event will be Freddie Prinze, Jr., Yearwood will be performing the National Anthem

The Rolling Stones is the first band to put the marketing and promotions into rock and roll. It's only fitting that the NF's special programL, feature performance footage of the Stones’ concert in Detroit on August 31. Their World Tour, "A Bigger Band" , begins August 21 in Boston.

This event is sponsored in part by Campbell’s, Canon, Coors, Diet Pepsi, EA Sports and GMC;. Associate sponsors of the special include Burger King, DMI, Gatorade, Motorola and Visa.

Super Bowl Detroit 2006

The Super Bowl will be coming to Detroit sooner than you think. Right now 2006 seems so far away. Football season hasn't even begun. But soon the summer will be here, the football season will return and the race for the playoffs will begin.

Are you planning on attending the Superbowl? Is you limousine company going to be providing service in Detroit. Now is the time to start getting ready. No point in waiting until the very last minute. Make your reservations now.

Limousine companies can reserve their place in the limousine directory now, thereby ensuring they have locked in their place at the top of the directory, as well as having the best chance at getting the most customers now.

Limo customers can reserve their limo now, or soon, and ensure they really do have a limo for the game, rather than wishful thinking.

Life is Strange

Life is strange. The only thing you really possess is time, and yet when you think about it you don't even possess that. As soon as a moment is gone, it is over, it is past, it will never be again, it can never be recaptured, it is just as completely gone as if it never existed. Except for memory. And in many ways memory is not even as good or complete as a movie, except that memory occurs inside of you, which gives you a satisfactory feeling. But a memory, it is something that does not exist. It is so tenuous that you cannot even prove the cause ever did exist, as it is obvious that it no longer does.

Consider yesterday. It is not today, it will not be again, how can you prove that it ever was, except for memory. The proof of yesterday is memory and comulative effects. If I started something yesterday, perhaps writing a letter, I wrote three lines, which I can continue today. Or I am building a house, yesterday I put up one wall, today another, and tomorrow another.

Life can be comulative or additive, what you do today tends to add to what you did yesterday. But not exactly, it is not exactly two plus two equals four. It could very easily be two plus two equals three, or even one for that matter.

Perhaps you are building a house, you build one wall, then another, then a third, and then perhaps the whole thing caves in, or you suddenly move to Europe and the house is abandoned.

The house will tend to remain for a time, but without constant supervision and maintenance it will tend to disintegrate. In fact when you examine it you will notice that life not only tends towards the comulative the additive it also tends towards the disintegrative, or subtractive over time. Nothing seems to maintain itself on its own without effort or maintenance.

Yet what proof do we have of this? The only proof, the only evidence is memory, and what other people say. All we can really be sure of, we are awake now, we are going to sleep now. The memories well what are they? And the very strange thing, the only person who has your memories is you, everyone else's is different.

ATTENTION: Students Who Enjoy Travel...Now's the Time

Just the other day I was speaking to a friend of mine up in New Jersey. She told me of her youngest daughter's desire to go to Africa this year. My friend's daughter is in her Junior year at Princeton University. We agreed now is the time for her to travel.... before she gets involved in the work-a-day world of a career. One of the best ways to travel when a college student is with your college or university.

Another college aged friend of mine is currently travelling on a Caribbean cruise during her school's Spring Break. This woman is a Senior at her college. She'll graduate in December. Now is the time for travel as a student.

Finally, I had a conversation with a friend of mine here in Florida who told me her son travelled this past summer to South America. In this case the young man is a recent college grad who chose to travel after graduating with high honors, and before making a committment to a career.

If you're a college student, or a recent graduate now is the time to plan a vacation. Whether it's a trip overseas or a journey across our nation, you'll find travel is fun, and educational. It helps to broaden one's point of view.

Travel

Do you like to travel? Do you like warm weather, especially in winter. At this time of year, especially after a long winter, I really like to go somewhere warm. I can't stand to wait any longer for summer, or some warm weather. I am tired of cold, short gray days. And even if the snow has melted, I am just so over winter. Spring can't come soon enough.

That's why I like to take a trip in the middle of winter, even early spring is good. Just when I feel like I can't stand another moment, or I don't want to go through another day...

By taking a winter vacation, I get to rejuvenate. I have something to look forward to, and after it is over I have something to remember that keeps me going while I wait for the summer to come.

If you are like me and you would like a little winter or early spring vacation check this travel resource. Personally I like the Caribbean Islands. Florida can be warm, even hot, but I prefer to be certain of it. Plus there is nothing like being on a Caribbean Island.

What to do now that the Football Season has ended.

What are we to do now that the football season has ended. Whether you were happy with the outcome or unhappy you are going to hae to wait about six months before you can start building up your hopes again, your anticipation and your excitement.

We have no intention of going away, but in the meantime, for the no football duration we might as well get on with our lives and think about other things. So we are thinking about travel. Warm hot sun, or interesting new localities. Travel to Europe, travel to the Caribbean. For a good resource check Go Vacation Or if you are staying closer to home check American Cities

Or maybe you want to combine a vacation with your wedding in other words a honeymoon. For a blog with wedding tips we suggest Bridal Times And for wedding resources we suggest the resource section at the same site, Bridal Times Resources

Whatever you choose to do it is going to be a while before football gets going again. so have fun.

Super Bowl XXXIX Half-time Show

I now offer my opinion of the half-time show. The pre-game show should have been the half-time show. Don Mischer, producer of both shows got it mixed up.

John Fogarty, Alicia Keys, and the choir from the School for the Deaf and Blind, along with Charlie Daniels, Earth, Wind and Fire, plus the Black-eyed Peas should have been the entertainment between the end of the second quarter of the game and the beginning of the third quarter. I really enjoyed when all of those entertainers, sans Keys and the student choir, came on stage and sang together. That was a great moment in NFL Super Bowl entertainment history.

It was a true Kleenex moment when a video of the late Ray Charles was projected on the stadium jumbo-trons during the performance of “America the Beautiful” so the choir and Ms Keys could have the benefit of the deceased genius’s assistance in making their rendition of his souful version of the song very special. What a wonderful way to honor one of America’s great talents.

The NFL chose Sir Paul McCartney for this year’s featured entertainer because of the scandalous “wardrobe malfunction” incident which occurred when Miss Jackson and Justin Timberlake performed last year. The only scandal here was the fact Paul McCartney is beginning to show his age. His voice cracks...a lot. Thank technology for lip-synching, otherwise the half-time could have been a disaster of another kind. As it was Paul, the formerly cute Beatle, sang four songs; actually I count officially he sang three songs, because “Hey Jude” is a mostly audience participation tune, so it really doesn’t count as a song performed entirely by Sir Paul. Basically the half-time show was a snorer...I mean ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. Yo! Don Mischer, big-time producer guy you should have reversed the order of the program. Better luck next year.

Why Cry? Why Not Have a Party?

“When life gives you a few lemons, make lemonade.” The Philadelphia Eagles did not win the Super Bowl. This fact is very disappointing to me, as well as to many people around the world who were cheering for them to win Super Bowl XXXIX. Now the team has to return to Philadelphia without the trophy, without the rings. There will be no joyous celebration in the city that loves you back. In fact there may not be very much love shown at all if I know the Philadelphia fans.

The Eagles can turn what appears to be a very sad time into a great party. Someone should convince the Eagles organization and the City of Philadelphia to have a parade to celebrate the loss. Consider the fact there are many more losers in the world than those whom we consider winners. When you consider the fact Philadelphia made it to the Super Bowl at all that’s reason enough to celebrate.

Picture it...confetti and streamers fill the air as the parade goes past City Hall with Billy Penn’s statue atop the building giving his blessing on the procession as it makes its way down Broad Street to the stadium. The Philadelphia Eagles own self-appointed old Grinch, Bill “Concrete Charlie” Bednarik, could act as the Grand Marshall of the parade. Al Gore and John Kerry could be invited to join in the celebration. They are this nation’s most well known losers in recent times. Perhaps the parade organizers could also include a rally at the stadium conducted by some of the losers from that American Idol television program.

Inspired by the sons and daughters of the Emerald Isle, we should follow the example set in the culture of the Irish people. Now those people really know how to party at a sad time. We can still wear all our green Eagles gear. Don’t be so glum, Bunky. Let’s mourn the Eagles’s loss of Super Bowl XXXIX like the Irish do....with a great big PARTY!

SUPER BOWL XXXIX-Game Day

Today is the day! Yippee!!Go Eagles! E-A-G-L-E-S, Eagles!

This is going to be a long day for the players. They've been getting pumped up for the game all week. Finally, the day has arrived....and the actual kick-off isn't until 630PM Eastern Time. I expect the game might end around 1030 or 11PM. This is what it really gets down to: the best two teams in the NFL battle to prove which team is the best. I believe the Philadelphia Eagles with Donovan Mc Nabb as QB and Andy Reid as Coach will bring home to Philadelphia the National Football League Trophy. It will be wonderful. I do not see three-peat in the future for the New England Patriots.
Go Eagles! E-A-G-L-E-S, Eagles!

A Reminder .....

Valentine’s Day is Monday, February 14th. All this Super Bowl excitement does not exempt you from your responsibility to honor your loved one(s). If there were an acceptable excuse, and there is no acceptable excuse outside of hospitalization, quarentine or death;if there were ever an unacceptable excuse for not buying a gift or doing something special for your sweetie on February 14th, this one is number one on my list of sad excuses:“The Patriots lost the Super Bowl. I’ve been depressed. I couldn’t get myself together to buy you a present.” NO SALE! (My backhanded way of making a Super Bowl prediction.) Stay out of the doghouse. Get some ideas on how to celebrate your love or rekindle the romance, even if you’re a depressed Patriots fan, visit Romantic Getaways. Or go to : Caribbean Vacations for ideas on how to get over the winter doldrums, cabin fever, and how to get back into the groove….you know like the one the fictional character Stella regained when she took a vacation to the Caribbean?

Super Bowl XXXIX news: T.O. is confident he’ll be playin’ in Super Bowl XXXIX. I’m with you T.O., mah brother! Playon Mr. Confidence, with yo badself. We, who love you, pray for your safety and your success with your teammates.

Not so super news: Condolences to New England Patriots QB Tom Brady and his family upon the passing of their loved one, Brady’s paternal grandmother. The funeral services will be held sometime following the Super Bowl.

Equally not so super news from the fans’s point of view...the great Emmitt Smith, the league’s all-time rushing leader, retires after an illustrious NFL career. Emmitt Smith leaves professional football in the very best way…while he’s still on top. I’m not a Dallas fan, but I certainly did admire the performance of Emmitt Smith as one of the most consistent RBs in the game. Yes I know he’s been with the Arizona Cardinals for the past two seasons. They did not re-sign him, which, according to Smith made his decision to retire much easier. I hope when I get to be his age, 35, I, too, can retire. Best wishes to you, and your family for continued success, Emmitt.

Are YOU Ready for Some More Football....Hype?

Whenever an event of the magnitude of the National Football League's Super Bowl takes place there is bound to be some erroneous reporting. I want to correct my error from a few posts ago concerning the appearance of two stellar political celebrities. Last week the NFL announced the scheduled live appearance during the Super Bowl pre-game show of former President Bill Clinton and former President George H.W. Bush, not GWB the current president named Bush. Ooops! My bad! I find it’s too confusing to have two presidents, one former and one current with the same first and last name.

Time now for the B-I-G, I mean really big, news. Terrell Owens, of the Philadelphia Eagles, says he’s gonna play on Sunday in Super Bowl XXXIX. I told you this is big news. Despite the very serious injury to his right leg; he’s got a plate and some pins in his ankle, and he’s not completed the 10 weeks or so the surgeon says it takes to heal an injury of this type.

During the Eagles’ Media Day, on Tuesday, Owens said, “I will play on Sunday. I know the type person I am. I have a lot of faith in my ability. I feel great. I’m proving a lot of people wrong. The sky is the limit for me. There are no limitations.”

This man is very, very confident. He’s a spiritual man who learned at an early age from teachings by his now deceased grandmother, to believe in himself, his abilities and our Creator.

For my part, T.O., Baby, if you want to play on Sunday, and the coach and the doctor say you should….have at it! If the surgeon says you shouldn’t play, then by all means be the Eagles’s number one cheerleader. I believe this season’s team of Philadelphia Eagles will be victorious over the defending champs with or without T.O.. As a wise man once said, “We shall see what we shall see.” We shall see on Sunday, February 6 2005, at 630Pm Eastern time…Super Bowl XXXIX, Alltel Stadium Jacksonville, Florida.
E-A-G-L-E-S, EAGLES! Go Eagles! YEAH!!

More Jacksonville SUPER BOWL XXXIX Activities

It's the count down week to the B-I-G game. There are activities available for every age, style and taste at Jacksonville Super Bowl XXXIX. For example, the NFL Experience at JEA Park provides an opportunity for you, adults and children, would be NFL players to get your football plays on. (Please see previous post.)

The Super Bowl Gospel Celebration, promises to be one sensational night of inspirational music, soul-stirring testimonies from NFL players and a chance to win a pair of tickets to the game. The concert kicks off Super Bowl Weekend on Friday, February 4, at 8:00 p.m. at Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church.

The award winning Patti La Belle is the featured artist. Others who will share the stage are popular well known gospel singers such as Donnie McClurkin, Karen Clark Sheard, Byron Cage and Kierra KiKi Sheard.

This is the 6th year for the star studded, soul stirring, and spiritually uplifting event. The Super Bowl Gospel Celebration evolved from Christian NFL players wanting an inspirational, family-oriented event during Super Bowl Weekend. Not everybody wants to have X-rated adult entertainment, a la strip clubs and sports bars, with activities that cannot be shared with the entire family.

In the past several current and former NFL players have participated in the program giving inspirational messages and testimonies.

This event is also a fundraiser with a portion of the proceeds to be donated to benefit the NFL YET Center in Jacksonville. That's a soon to be built center where young people will find educational and recreational opportunity as well as guidance to becoming productive healthy citizens.

Tickets are $50 and available at TicketMaster locations in Jacksonville, (904) 353-3309, TicketMaster.com and the Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church (a nonrefundable service fee will apply).

Some featured attractions are interactive, participatory skill competitions. Find out how far you can kick a field goal. See if you can call the play-by-play of some of the most exciting moments in NFL history. Topps Super Bowl Card Show, the largest football card show ever!

Jacksonville SuperBowl XXXIX Map

Are YOU Ready for Some Football...Hype?

It's the start of the hype for SUPER BOWL XXXIX. I love it! The lead up to this championship game is like a carnival. The promotions, celebrity appearances, the non-stop media coverage. Anything, anybody, everything, and everybody associated with the game of football, the teams who will be playing, anything remotely related to any element of the event will receive coverage from reporters from all over the world.

For example, yesterday, the NFL today announced both former President Bill Clinton, and our current President George Bush will appear live during the pre-game show to thank NFL fans and encourage Americans to donate to the tsunami relief efforts. Let me say I join them in asking all Americans to continue to support the people who’ve been decimated by the big storm. We must do our part to keep down the costs of manicures and pedicures for American women. Give to Tsunami relief charities.

Secondly, we have the question that’s bigger than why Jenn and Brad broke up or who will be J-Lo’s next fiance….the question: Will Terrell Owens play in Super Bowl XXXIX? After Donovan McNabb, T.O. is my favorite Eagle. I want to tell the world right here, right now….I LOVE T.O.! For my part I think T.O. should allow his body to properly heal before he plays again. The Eagles can, and they will, win Super Bowl XXXIX. They’ve gotten this far without T.O. Terrell, for me, and all of your fans, please, please follow your doctor’s orders. Sit this one out. Be a cheerleader. Do the James Brown “Good Foot” dance on the sidelines. We’ll understand, really, we who love your spirit, and your intellect, will truly understand!

Have you rented a house for Super Bowl? Not yet! What are you waiting for? You need to go to:

SuperBowl2005Rentals.com

They've got beautiful homes for rent.
Some of the houses include luxury limousine transportation. The folks at SuperBowl2005Rentals.com even have a nightclub for rent so you and your friends can hold an Eagles victory celebration party...in private!

SuperBowl2005Rentals.com Time is running out. Do it today, okay? Okay!

Go Eagles! E-A-G-L-E-S, Eagles! Yeah!
